The different types of cartridges

• Original ink cartridges are produced by the original manufacturer (e.g. Canon, Epson, HP, Lexmark).

• Eco-cartridges or Remanufactured ink cartridges are recycled original cartridges, thus reducing environmental side effects from ink cartridges as a “consumable”. The cartridge has been cleaned professionally, refilled and tested by a third party and not by the original manufacturer. These cartridges are much cheaper compared to the price of an original cartridge since the cartridge is recycled.

• Compatible cartridges will work just as good for your inkjet printer but are not produced by the original manufacturer. The upside is that they are sold at a considerable lower price than original ink cartridges.

Independent tests have confirmed the quality of compatible cartridges compared to original cartridges and the fact that a consumer will save a lot of money by using alternatives to original ink cartridges.
