A printer driver is a specialized type of software that converts the image, document or web page you want to print to something that the printer understands. Printer drivers are most often tailored for specific printer series/models with different versions depending on the operating system for the computer the printer is connected to.

Remember that many computer problems are related to faults in installed drivers. As a safety precaution, always download your printer driver directly from the printer driver maker and not from printer driver directories.

Don’t forget to print a test page after installing the new driver!
